Zagori means “the land behind the mountain”.
Zagori is perched in a particularly beautiful part of the Pindos range in Epirus and its 46 villages are scattered among magnificent natural surroundings and rivers. They are known by everybody as “Zagorochoria”. The wonderful location, high altitude, ideal aspect and, of course, local culture render Kapesovo a top tourist destination.
Although Kapesovo is one of the smallest villages in Zagori, it is also one of the most beautiful and well-preserved in the area.
Our menu includes warm, velvety soups, tender meat dishes with porcini mushrooms and potato mash or sweet caramelised quinces, ‘trahana’ delicious pasta dishes made with wild mushrooms and of course the all well-known traditional Zagorian pies.
